Basic Policies Concerning the Protecting personal information ("Privacy Policies")

  • In addition to compiling its own Personal Information Protection Management Regulations concerning the Protecting personal information, the FTFHIA complies with the Personal Information Protection Law and related laws and ordinances, etc.
  • The FTFHIA respects individual rights pertaining to personal information, and responds to inquiries and requests for disclosure, correction and deletion from members in connection with their own information in accordance with laws and ordinances such as the Health Insurance Law and the Personal Information Protection Management Regulations.
  • The FTFHIA endeavors to protect personal information at all times by managing it in an appropriate manner as follows:
    • Clarifies responsibility by appointing a Personal Information Handling Officer.
    • Implements rigorous security measures to prevent the leakage, destruction, loss, falsification and misuse of personal information.
    • Restricts access to personal information databases so as to manage them under safe environmental conditions.
    • Carries out thoroughgoing staff education in connection with the Protecting personal information.
  • When collecting personal information, the FTFHIA shall clarify to the insured persons and dependents the purpose of collecting such information except in cases where such collection is obligatory under laws and ordinances such as the Health Insurance Law. It shall also use the collected information only within the scope of the usage objectives, and shall not provide it to third parties except in cases where it outsources operations in order to accomplish the usage objectives.
  • In the case where the FTFHIA outsources operations in order to accomplish the usage objectives, it will ensure that the subcontractor's handling of the personal information is managed and supervised in an appropriate manner.
  • In response to requests from the insured persons and dependents, the FTFHIA shall without delay make corrections, etc., in order to ensure that the personal information on the insured persons and dependents stored in its personal information database is as accurate, complete and up-to-date as possible.

  • The Basic Policies and the Personal Information Protection Management Regulations will be revised as appropriate in response to the enactment, revision and abolition of laws and ordinances, etc.
